How should I structure my portfolio of shares?

Ideally we will advise you to structure your portfolio by investing a certain percentage (depending on what your requirements are) into the following format:

Eg:-      Nation Trust Bank (Franchise Holder for American Express Bank “AMEX” operation in Sri Lanka), Sri Lanka Telecom ( Enjoying the biggest market share in the Island with the help of NTT Japan), Tokyo Cement ( the key stock that contributes to infrastructural development with Japanese stake holding), Dialog Telekom (Market Leader in GSM network), ACL Cable (Market Leader in the Cable Industry).

High Dividend Yield Stocks - Companies that pay a High Rate of Dividend.

E.g.:-    Caltex Lubricants, Lanka Orix Leasing Corporation,  Ceylon Tobacco, Nestle, National Development Bank, Ceylon Oxygen, Asiri Hospital, Ceylon Hospital, Lanka Tiles, Ceylon Glass, Hatton National Bank, Asiri Central Hospital, Maskeliya Plantation, Tea Small Holders etc.

High Value Stable Stocks - Stocks such as Conglomerate or the Banking Sector stocks, which have high value, yet are stable and have high growth potential with foreign investing.

E.g.:-    John Keels Holdings, Hayleys, Aitken Spence, Richard Peiris, Dipped Products, Chemical Industries of Ceylon, Commercial Bank, Development Finance Corporation of Ceylon, National Development Bank, Sampath Bank, Carsons Cumberbatch, Hemas Holdings, James Finlay, Singer Sri Lanka, Hatton National Bank, Cargills Ceylon, Ceylon Cold Stores etc.

Low Value Shares - generally stocks that trade below (Rs.10/=) per share. These shares are good to speculate in, as a small growth in share value in rupee terms will equate into a substantial growth in percentage terms.
